Are you a fridge mover or non-mover?
This question may surprise you but I know there are millions of non-movers out there!
And we are all just fine thank you!
KITCHEN OLYMPICS #6 SUBSIDIARY
As we discussed yesterday, there are many ready opportunities to perfect your dropped food lunges. This is a further refinement of that event.
What if the food item, and we are using this term very widely here, rolls or runs under the fridge before you retrieve it?
This is the dilemma that pounded me for decades – previously I was definitely in the fridge-mover camp.
SHOULD I MOVE THE FRIDGE TO GET IT OUT?

Now as a Boomer with many styles, shapes and SIZES of fridge behind me in my life, I am presenting you with a checklist to assist you with this weighty decision (figurately and literally speaking). Yes! Just keep the checklist handy on the fridge!
SIZE – Enormous, medium or move with one hand.
What are the dimensions of your fridge? Think about when you first got/saw the fridge – how many people did it take to move it in? More than one?

WHEELS – yes or no.
Are there wheels on your fridge? If you aren’t sure – a word of caution. Don’t drag it- refrigerators are HEAVY and will gouge your floor!
STORAGE ON TOP – yes or no
Many people store tissue boxes, fruit baskets, bits and pieces on top. If you are considering even a quick and dirty fridge move, these objects tend to fly off with distressing regularity.
DEBRIS ALIVE OR DEAD? currently breathing?
This is the pivotal question for this life event.
The following images represent items that have all found their way under my fridge at times.

Most of these are self-explanatory. I want to emphasise I have NEVER splashed wine under my fridge, I have dropped ice-cubes.
The skink was a gift from my previous housemate Frodo whom you have met on these pages before.
Hickory, my current housemate, only ventures outside to get lost in neighbour’s kitchens – so no skink gift from him. His gifts are generally hair ties and scrunchies that he has killed.

Returning to the defining question for you.
DO I MOVE THE FRIDGE?
I would not presume to make the decision for you.
The influencing factors listed above should lead you to a clearer understanding.
Be bold, make the decision. Which tribe do you belong to?
Share your decision below. Your secret is safe with me!

I am happy to say I am a fridge mover. I’ve done it fairly recent, too. It was not that hard, easier in actuality than in my head. Not much stuff on top. Have wheels. Easy to roll out. Glad to clean all that stuff behind and underneath.
Good for you Lily! I don’t have the statistics on mover/non-mover categories but you lead the mover group!
Cheers F
