Is there really any wrong way of doing stuff?
WHAT DOES THE ‘WRONG WAY’ MEAN?
Dragons – is it wrong to believe in them?
PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS TELL YOU WHAT IS WRONG
What have you always been told that you have been doing it wrong?
‘It’ can range from:
- walking – many of us have all our lives apparently (thank you Alyson McRitchie of Reflex Clinical Therapies – my back and hips thank you really)
- the way to put fluff on your cappuccino (ok – the image shows my recent homemade poor quality effort)
- the black cat in the clip above seems to be somehow in the wrong
- dragons are not real
- the folks at Magnetic Speaking can help you out if you get a pause wrong when you are speaking.
From my perspective, ‘wrong’ almost always is a person’s judgmental opinion. Often the comment is filtered through fear, ignorance or worst, malice.
So what can we do about it?
There are ways that I have and am still learning to respond to this whole WRONG movement.
Whatever the ‘it’ you are told that you are doing/saying/thinking wrongly (that last one is a biggie isn’t it).
I hear the echoes of ‘who do you think you are!’ – never a question; always a peremptory demand that whatever it is you are thinking must be wrong.
My response is – is this hurting anyone? Will it directly affect someone’s life or is it just their reaction to something they don’t like or have an opinion that is different to yours?
If the answer is NO – it is just someone’s thought about ‘it’ not the actual ‘it’ – why are you concerned?
If it is YES – however that wrong needs to be modified – dewrongified if you will but by you, because you may hurt, disturb or endanger someone.
REASSURANCE THAT ‘WRONG’ IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER
I want you to feel uplifted and confident that the ideas, dreams and actions you have and take in your life are for you to assess as wrong or not, based on your personal compass points.
I love dragons, llamas and flamingos with equal passion, am a very poor cappuccino maker, a good listener, try my best to keep personal judgement out of interactions with people and am planning to learn how to tap-dance this year.
For some people, any or all of those ‘its’ may be wrong or unseemly for a woman of 62.
You know what?
WHO CARES?
Here is your opportunity to share your secret or blatant wrong ‘it’.
Go on – it will be refreshing if there are other dragon fanciers out there – fire, earth and sea dragoneers all welcome here!

Hi Fran, I feel I have wronged you. There is nothing “wrong” with the way we walk for it has got us to where we are today. Whatever it is we do is never wrong as it is a journey of discovery. Learning how to do it differently, gives the opportunity to discover more about ourselves. Bringing your walking style to your awareness has enabled more awareness and then, your decision for adjustment to serve you better.
My intention is to create ‘Awareness’, for you to ‘Acknowledge’ old learned behaviours that may not serve anymore and, to ‘Accept’ that is a part of who you were. The present moment allows for more awareness which naturally creates the momentum of change (ie: a new way to walk that will serve).
This misunderstanding of and, opportunity for clarification is my wrong ‘it’. And I am thankful for it. It has opened up further discussion, created understanding, enabled me to observe my own reaction to this post and helped me reach out.
BTW: I have proof dragons are real (in my backyard); your cappuccino looks amazing; and you are never wrong. xx
Ahh! My dear Alyson – thank you for your thoughts and wisdom…. you proved my point in any case… I am now aware of the way I need to change so I am served better… and I have you to thank for that. My hips and back thank you and my gammy knees thank you.
They were the bits that knew I was grouping them together and doing it wrong ….
All good – I am visiting with your dragons one day…. 🙂
You are welcome to visit with my dragons any day (soon). xx
Hey Alyson
I am wearing one in my ear lobe today.
Cheers F
